At Porte d'Orléans's subway station take line 4 : It will directly bring to Montparnasse's area (and the train station that has the same name), Saint-michel's area and Saint Germain des Prés, Notre-Dame de Parsi cathedral, Centre Pompidou, etc.

It will always get you to

• Chatelet's subway station, where you'll find 4 other lines, including n°1 that crosses Paris east to west.
• Chatelet Les Halles's RER station, where you'll find Rer's lines A and B.

Finally, it's easy to move around using the subway. However, it's even easier using a few simple instructions you'll find here.

 

At the Porte d'Orléans, you have THREE BUS LINES, which take you directly to the most tourist areas of Paris:

* line n ° 38: it brings you in particular to Luxembourg, to the prestigious district Saint Michel - Saint Germain, to the town hall, to the Pompidou center, etc ...

* line 68: it brings you in particular to the rue du Bac, the Orsay museum, the Louvre museum, the Royal Palace, then the Paris Opera.

* line n ° 28: it brings you in particular to the district of Montparnasse, to the Ecole Militaire and the Eiffel Tower and also to the Invalides, the Palais de la Découverte, the Champs-Elysées, the Haussmann district, etc.

 

By bus, you will generally take between 20 and 30 minutes to reach these different places of the capital. And the course is very nice because you visit Paris and enjoy its wonderful monuments.

RER's trains go through Paris as well as Paris's different suburbs.

Quite close to your flat, you'll be able to take RER B with Cité universitaire and Denfert Rochereau's stations.

It goes through Paris and Parisian's suburbs from North to South and joins the region's entire network.

It takes you to Gare du Nord (where you can take the Eurostar), Gare de l'Est (trains that go towards the east of France and Germany), and Charles de Gaulle's airport.

When it comes to RER A (Europe's most used line !), you can take it at Chatelet Les Halles. It goes through Paris from the east to the west and will allow you to get to Eurodisney (amongst other spots).

There are 8 tram lines in Paris, which essentially tour the capital.

The line that may interest you the most is line 3a (see the map here). Indeed, this line allows you to reach easily:

 

• the Palace of Versailles (see the itinerary here)

 

• The salons of the Porte de Versailles (see explanations on these salons here and the way to go there from your apartment here)

 

• the very pleasant Parc de Montsouris and the beautiful Cité Universitaire (see details here). Located opposite each other, these two sites are two tram stops from the Porte d'Orléans. Get off at Tram Station Cité Universitaire.

• From your apartment, you can reach the tramway T3a either at the Porte d'Orleans station (to reach the Cité Universitaire) or at the Jean Moulin station (to go to the Porte de Versailles or the Palace of Versailles.
